Tanner N Puryear

Attorney

Tanner is an experienced attorney who represents asylum seekers in courts nationwide, including the Board of Immigration Appeals. Tanner’s advocacy has resulted in hundreds of applicants being granted asylum. He has also successfully overturned prior orders of removal incorrectly issued by immigration courts.

Tanner further assists clients with reopening their removal claims when they have been removed for failure to appear at a hearing. Outside of court, Tanner represents clients in all matters related to immigration, including visa applications and applications for adjustment of status.


Prior to joining Fisher Law Firm he practiced real estate law. He has extensive experience in law and motion hearings before the Sacramento County and Placer County Superior Courts. He has represented landlords in numerous unlawful detainers trials, in addition to litigating partition, quiet title, and non-disclosure actions.


Prior to practicing real estate law, Tanner represented insurance carriers and third party administrators in workers’ compensation actions throughout Northern California. His job duties included drafting liability exposure reports, deposing injured workers, and presenting settlement agreements for approval before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. Further duties included investigating potential Labor Code 132(a) violations.


While in law school at the University of Pacific, McGeorge, Tanner clerked at a personal injury firm, in addition to an insurance defense firm that specialized in construction defect and general liability defense. Tanner also competed on the school's mock trial team while balancing a full academic schedule.
